Ithaca

Last weekend we went up to Ithaca to visit an old architecture friend who is getting her MBA at Cornell. It was a gorgeous weekend weatherwise, and the fall foliage was beautiful. I feel like we don't get to experience fall properly in New York City. The trees stay green and then all of a sudden you wake up one day and all of the leaves are on the ground. Pretty much the only thing we did was eat - Ithaca Bakery, Louie's Lunch (YES! tully burger!), the Nines, Wegmans (greatest supermarket ever), Cafe Dewitt, the farmers' market, Gimme! coffee...it was a great break from the bustle of new york city. Sean and I are headed to Rochester, NH, this Friday for the opening of our group show at Artstream Gallery. We are excited to meet the lovely Susan, and for the chance to once again bust out of the city for a little natural inspiration.

Seeking Light

Oh man...Thank goodness it's friday! It's been a long week. Sean and I sent off our work for the Mapping the Way exhibition at Artstream. We've got 14 pieces in the show...We'll post them here over the next week. The pen and ink drawings above are six different drawings from the Seeking Light series. Each drawing is 9" x 9" and is being sold for $150 each. We'll be selling digital prints of the original pen and ink drawings through Artstream for $25, as well.

The thing I am most excited about for this weekend - Betty's back for two weeks! It's been almost three years since we saw her last and we've missed her tons! Whoo!

new work

We've got some new work out - limited edition cards and prints over at the Shiny Squirrel. The Kingdom Spirits Series (above) draw from ancient mythologies of supernatural animal-beings that roam the land, sea, and air. I really like how they turned out (we used metallic gold ink for the first time). The cards below are from our Bloom Series. Thanks to Design*Sponge, Paper Shop Ink, and Design This Design That for posting about our new work.

Now we're hard at work on some new pieces for our upcoming show at the Artstream gallery in Rochester, NH. We're taking part in a group exhibition that opens November 2 and runs until January 1, 2008. The theme is mapping, something we can always get excited about.
