MoMA goods

Phew...I just got back from the UPS store and have shipped off our goods to the MoMA Store. Our Frame journals will be in both of their Manhattan stores (but not online, yet). We're so excited to have our work at the MoMA - it's really an honor! I was almost afraid to ship the order off, in case I hadn't followed their shipping instructions exactly...Hopefully, I'm not too much of a dolt and so there won't be any issues.

Otherwise - I was really saddened to hear the news regarding Stephanie Nielson (a blogger I've been following) and her husband - they were in a plane crash over the weekend, and happily survived, but with serious injury...The flight instructor passed away in the hospital. Stephanie and Christian have four kids, so my thoughts and prayers go out to their family and to the family of the flight instructor...

I am the Man

Friday marked my first day of self-employment...ah...it was nice. While I'll miss the paycheck, it is exciting to pursue Sub-Studio full time. I'll be focusing my time on a few websites for clients, and on developing a semi-custom wedding line. Sean and I also want to be better about putting out new products. We're hoping for something new in the shop once a month. We'll see how that goes! Who knows how sustainable this will be, but I'm excited to step out in faith and to see where God leads...even if that's back to another design job.

The image above is from a late night walk Sean and I took and is the underlay for an upcoming project...

Many, many postcards

That stack of postcards you see there have been addressed and stamped and are ready to go out into the world, with the purpose of hopefully bringing the recipients back to our booth at the NSS this year. 400 postcards - it took me all day, and my hand is now a quivering mess. But I like to think of them traveling from our house and around the US. Only five more weeks (!)!

Engagement Party Invites

We did an invite for the engagement party of a friend of a friend. CT & Charles are a Southern couple living in the city, so our invite drew on the NYC theme. I'm very happy with the way the invites turned out. The paint color is actually a much deeper blue/green than the photo shows.

Hinge Series

Here's a sneak preview of one of the new products we'll be debuting at the NSS this May. These are from the Hinge series, and hopefully there will be six different designs in total. I'm pretty excited about them - I love the wraparound design of the hinge on the backside. They were screen-printed on 100 lb. recycled cardstock paper with metallic gold ink.

We'll be posting more previews here as we get closer to the NSS, so stay posted!

Weekend Walking

We spent a nice chunk of last Saturday strolling around Brooklyn before meeting up with some friends for a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery. Ironically, most of BB's beer production happens upstate. I guess that's what happens when real estate is so expensive!

Some action shots from the weekend. Sean likes to jump off of things and I like to record it. These photos make me giggle, especially Sean's expression in the one on the right. Yes, I married a doofus, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

NSS Prep

Here are a few images from last weekend's walk about town...

Sean and I are working on a series of new products for the NSS. We're excited to be sharing a booth with three lovely ladies: JHill Design, Ink & Wit, and RSVP Press. We are busy designing a series of journals, new cards and some new prints. Can't wait to show you the new work!
