Hot Cold Mug

Charles & Marie are having a pre-sale of their Hot Cold Mug. The mug is made with a heat sensitive pigment that causes it to turn from black to white as it heats up. So, it starts by reading "COLD", and after you fill it up with a hot liquid, the text turn into "HOT". Clever, eh? The Hot Cold Mug is a spin off of Charles & Marie's On Off Mug.

Available for pre-sale here.

Riedel Decanters

There's no denying that Riedel makes quality glassware, but the product series that I love most from Riedel are their decanters. They are so gorgeous with their fluid shapes and simple forms. I really wanted to put one of their decanters on our wedding registry, but felt too guilty about the price tag, so I didn't. But regardless, they are beautiful and maybe some day we'll take the plunge and get one.

Some of my favorites: the Amadeo Decanter the Swan Decanter, and the Cornetto Decanter.

Ed Vince - Etiquette Set

I love this Etiquette Set by Ed Vince - a pre-packaged dining kit that "allows the user to enjoy an à la Russe dining experience in any context, regardless of class or wealth." Subversive in its mass-production implications and model-kit construction, the Etiquette Set is ornately detailed to recall traditional silver cutlery and a refined dining experience.

Katja Bremkamp

Katja Bremkamp makes some lovely cutlery. Each piece is minimal, with the slightest manipulations indicating the function of each piece. I'm a little skeptical about the functionality of the silverware (could I actually eat with that spoon and knife?), but I love how each piece is more or less bent metal.

Mikiya Kobayashi

Lee emailed us about a new product in his shop: the restless chopsticks (or uki hashi in Japanese) by Mikiya Kobayashi. Brilliantly designed so that the tip won't touch the table when set down, the restless chopsticks put an end to all of my sad attempts to make rests out of paper.

Jorine Oosterhoff

The "Tea Time" collection is a very playful set of tableware from Jorine Oosterhoff. I love the smooth lines and the irregular shapes. Inspired in part by Alice in Wonderland and other fantastical characters, "Tea Time" would be a fun addition to your tableware collection. Available at Rose and Radish.
