Happy Birthday!

Today is my dear Sean’s birthday! In honor of the fact that he turns 27 today, I wanted to post some of the baller presents he got for his birthday. I got him the Ben Sherman blazer. He’s been eyeing it for some time now…It’s a little much for my tastes, but how can a girl deny the man she loves such a pimpin’ jacket? He got himself the Emerica Reynolds 3 shoes…note the bling bling cubic zirconium accent!

Anyway, a big happy birthday to my lovely Sean!

Patagonia Footwear – DIY

The DIY Shoe from Patagonia is an incredible idea. The shoe comes in a few panels with leather strings in a bag and you build it yourself, straight caveman style.

AV Era

The AV Era is Anthony Van Englen’s (AVE) first pro shoe at Vans. I like the super simple styling and the no-stitch toe box. And you can’t go wrong with paisley, right?

Wrench Pilot Lakai

Lakai released a Wrench Pilot Series as part of their Spring 2007 line. I love the old Wrench Pilot comic that was featured in Thrasher and Transworld way back in the day. Lettus Bee is illustrated by Mel Bend aka Andy Jenkins. Jenkins is part of The Art Dump, the collective that handles art direction for the Girl Skateboards Family.

One of my drawings was even featured on the old Diurnal Drawings. As well as one of my paintings on the cover page.

Emerica Ridgemont

I love these Emerica purple Ridgemonts. The artwork is by Mark Foster aka FOS. A little crazy, but I still like them.

Etnies Plus Spring 2007

Etnies Plus is back again with their Spring 2007 Collection. How can you go wrong with supple leather slip-ons with wingtip detailing at the toe? The Yardie says I garden in style. Check them out.

Nike Okwahn

The Nike Okwahn re-release is another of the long line of ACG re-releases. I have always liked the ACG re-released shoes, they have always been more interesting and varied than the Air Max lines. The snakeskin upper is a nice example of some good flash to what was once a pretty drab shoe.

Now if they would only re-release the Air Terra Outback and the original Air Terra Goatek’s, I would be very happy.

Unfortunately, the Okwahns are not available from the Nike.com site.

Flare on the Field

Who says that football boots are boring? Instead of fins and scales like the Adidas Predator, the Hummel H-Spot brings a bit of dandy-ness to the field.

Starbury’s (In)Conspicuous Consumption

Stephon Marbury, whose 2006 NBA salary was listed as $14,625,000, has taken it upon himself to start a footwear line. Like many other pros, his name is the draw and appeal for the new brand.

The big catch is that the shoes and clothing are priced below $20/pair. In a culture that favors the more expensive and more flashy, it is commendable that Marbury has created a company that allows everyone to engage the ‘premium’ genre of star products. The Crossovers above cost only $10(!). The shoes are available at Steve and Barry Stores throughout the U.S.

Lacoste Footwear

Lacoste is the clothier created by Rene Lacoste in 1933, and is known for its iconic polo shirts. In addition to their clothing line, their footwear is making great strides in bringing sport to fashion without becoming overly technical a la puma or oakley. The women’s L33 (left) and the men’s Boston (right), are two examples of a more refined take on sport fashion.
