There’s a whole world out there, some places farther away than others. Nat Geo’s 2012 Traveler Photo Contest Winners came out last week and there are some beautiful ones.

It’s been a longtime desire of mine to go to Iceland – to check out the country’s amazing and varied landscapes. I finally get to check this off the bucket list – we’re heading to Iceland for a week this coming weekend, and would love to get any suggestions you might have on must-see places, restaurants, buildings, etc. We’ll be in Reykjavik for a few days, and then will travel a little to the north to see Borgarnes, Reykholt and Barnafossar. We’ll check out the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon, and then will drive along the southern coast, staying in Vik and Selfoss, and going as far west as the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon before heading back to Reykjavik. If you’ve been to Reykjavik or southern Iceland, please share your suggestions! Thank you so much!
All of these beautiful aerial photos of Iceland were shot by Erlend and Orsolya Haarberg and published in a Daily Mail article.

HUH Magazine showcases a few photographs from the LIFE archives of skateboarding in the streets of NYC and in Central Park back in the 60′s when it was really more sidewalk surfing than skateboarding.

Incredible time lapse project Yosemite HD by Sheldon Neill and Colin Delehanty showcases the wonder of the sights/sites at Yosemite National Park. Wish we could to the way-out-there more often.
