Beautiful and touching short – Crayon Dragon by Toniko Pantoja. When watching this, I was thinking about how much the things I draw are related more to the things I see with my eyes than the things I see with my brain. We could all use a little more imagination.
I think scarves are for old ladies, but it's a stylish thing if you've got something that's outside of the normal floral or paisley. Check out James Jean's Reclamare Silk Scarf.

Tomer Hanuka is one of my favorite illustrators and I love the re-imagining of the spread of Leonidas vs. the wolf from 300 for his Mondo poster. The original was more chiaroscuro but Tomer’s is subdued and I like how the color and edges of the wolf’s coat, combined with the snowflakes, begins to disappear into the paper.

Always cool to see new work from Evan Hecox. He has a new show opening in NYC in a few weeks at Joshua Liner Gallery. It features work inspired by NYC, so I’m excited to see it. You can see more of his process work at his Blog.

I just read A Princess of Mars, the Burroughs book that Disney adapted into John Carter. Though critics have semi-panned the movie, I think I would like to check it out. The book has semi-detailed descriptions of multiple cultures and their respective architecture/technologies/aesthetics like the Heliumite ship and tower below.
It’s always interesting to see how artists interpret literary worlds. The conceptual design for the environments and vehicles was done by Ryan Church and it is a little ornate, but I do like it. It is crazy to think that Burroughs conceived of the things that he did back in 1917. A lot of it is far more interesting than the “world of tomorrow” type of futurism.

Ever wanted to be like the Predator and repair your own wounds with glow in the dark medicine? Now you can do it, or make sand art. I wish we had crazy stuff like this Crayola Glow Explosion Sand when I was a kid. It would have made for some cool art projects and science projects.

More cool stuff from Gianmarco Magnani aka Silence Television on his blog.
