Hello, friends! Another year, come and gone! We’ve got family arriving today, so we’ll be signing off early this week, and are taking next week off for the holiday. We’ll be back in this space on Monday, January 2nd, 2012(!). Thanks so much for reading this year, and for keeping us posted on your awesome projects. Have a wonderful and safe holiday week!
PS. The awesome ornament above is one half of The Earth & The Heaven 1551 globes. I bought it off of Fab.com and love it!
I love this – Ben Broyde’s Orlogin is one half transformer and one half crazy Lego tower. He starts with several painted wood base shapes, and then begins to chop up and carve into the base shapes, revealing the wood beneath and constructing the clock.
Via Designboom. I can’t seem to find a link to the designer’s website – if you find one, please let me know!
The KeepCup is a great way to get rid of your disposable coffee cup. With a customizable lid, cup, plug and band, you can create your own design combination…
I like the simplicity of this industrial-style bottle opener by Adam Hogsett. Each opener is manually machined from cold formed steel and hand stamped with the production number.
We received this post submission from Little Studio titled “Nordic happy design”, and I think that’s the perfect name for these pieces. Their works are inspired by children – they are playful, beautiful. and colorful!
Children’s ability to see things for more than what they really are, is a great inspiration to us. For example, a triangle could just be a triangle – but it can also be a mountain. Or a circle, a circular symbol, can with other circles turn into soap bubbles.
Kontextür made a cool cover for your tissue box – I dig! Clean and cute – I would love one of these.
The Kontextür Tissue Box Cover is an understated yet potent antidote to the potpourri of ubiquitous kitsch and oft-smudged metallic ones dominating the category. This thoughtful new design redirects the tissue box from its typical role, hidden away from view, and celebrates its function by turning it into an objet d’art. The iconic factory silhouette with its smokestack-like extension at the top serving as the opening for the tissues creates a strong visual interplay between the shapes, colors and materials.
Proud Mary, started by an old friend from Stoked, started making more than just pillows and added some smart totes to their collection. Check them out!
You’ve got to have some serious balls to go for these cliff jumps. The video is from sponsor Casio for the G-Shock Mudman, but I don’t think the watch has any real bearing on what they are doing.
We created a handy-dandy submissions form. Please submit your latest and greatest projects to us this way - it's much more effective than sending us an email. We look forward to seeing what you are cooking up!

Follow the Leader is an ongoing collaboration. We began with six drawing 'seeds' and asked our friends and community to complete the seeds, in whatever way they imagined. See all of the Follow the Leader collaborations here.
