New print release. This week we are excited to welcome a new artist to The Working Proof, Colin Johnson and his print The Nth Degree to benefit Farm Sanctuary. With his use of a bold yellow and the intricate collage work, this print is truly something to see in person. The small images, words and symbols that Colin uses beckon the viewer to lean into the print and examine every detail. I love Colin’s own description of the print and the intensity of creating such a complex composition:

The print… showcases a collage style that I have developed over the years and dubbed “hyper-collage” due to the intense complexity and dense amount of collage and painting work combined in these types of pieces. The title refers somewhat specifically to the fact that every element of the composition is taken literally to the “nth degree” in terms of the large numbers of collage elements needed to fill every tiny space on the surface of the artwork…This particular piece took an entire month to finish.
