Swatch has a new set of simple, clean, and colorful gents. I like that they are pursuing two different directions – fun wacky old school Swatch, and now the refined and subdued new school Swatch.

I missed this one when it aired last night, but Banksy directed the opening couch gag for The Simpsons. It paints a grim picture of 20th Century Fox’s animation of the show (S.Korea) and merchandizing (China probably). Did Banksy do any research or is it a caricature? Probably a little of both, but mostly the latter. I mean, who would use cats to stuff dolls – the fur to non-fur ratio is so low. Fluffy bunny rabbits would have been a better choice.

We don’t get personal much in this space, but we wanted to share some upcoming news with you – Sean and I are having a baby! We’re having a little girl in early February and we are super excited to meet her. Nothing much will change on this blog, but if you are interested in design-y baby items, we will be posting our favorite finds and documenting our growing family over here.

So you watched the video of free diving/base jumping into an underwater sinkhole. Now watch a clip (0-2:00) from Planet Earth: Caves for the real deal. The Cave of Swallows in Mexico is tall enough to house the Eiffel Tower and is a popular spot for insane people to jump into.

Citroen held a contest to design a piece for the roof panel of their mini-car, the DS3. Flavio Melchiorre was the jury’s pick for winner. The Citroen contest site has more photos and video of the winning design’s graphics and install.

The Citrange by Quentin de Coster is a nicely functional (and pretty!) fruit juicer. Its two ends are sized differently to accommodate the various diameters of citrus fruits. The juice is funneled down through the center of the Citrange (which also filters the seeds) and into your waiting glass!

How amazing are these bookmarks/post-it notes? So delicate and beautiful! Designed by Appree and available here.

Hanna Hedman’s latest collection of jewelry, Human Tree, doesn’t disappoint – wearable art, this time inspired by pieces of human anatomy.
