Blomus Fire Basket

The Atrio Fire Basket, by Blomus is a nice little self-contained fire pit for your backyard. Simply fill with wood, light and relax. When you are done, simply ash in your garbage bin.

Karen Walker

While Karen Walker‘s jewelry is all very nice, the images of the jewelry really steal the show. If you know who the photographer is, let me know!

UPDATE: The photographer is Derek Henderson and the stylist is Katie Lockhart. Thanks, Allebelle!

Dasparkhotel

This is craziness…In a public park in Linz, Austria, three drain pipes have been converted into mini hostel/hotel rooms. Called Dasparkhotel, each room comes with a double bed, linens, a side table and a bed light. The guest is asked to pay what they can for the room. As for amenties such as a bathroom, guests at Dasparkhotel use the park’s public toilets, and nearby restaurants for food. While I think this is a great idea, and a really awesome rethinking of something as banal as a drain pipe, I would have safety concerns, perhaps because I am imagining something like this in Central Park. Also, I wonder who cleans the rooms? The Parks Department?

Miki Iwasaki: Mi-Workshop

I love the Japanese-inspired graphics on these snowboards. Miki Iwasaki of Mi-Workshop designed them for RIDE Snowboards.

Jessica Gary – Insurgentmuse

Sean and I are printing our save-the-dates with our trusty gocco and were having issues with the solid areas of color. Anyway, did a search on the internet to see if anyone out there had any guidance, and came across Jessica Gary instead, aka Insurgentmuse, who didn’t really have any advice but definitely has some cute gocco-pressed cards!

Simon Hoegsberg

Simon Hoegsberg is a photographer in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has a bunch of interesting work on his website, but I especially love the “Thought Project”. The artist’s statement:

“Over a period of 3 months I stopped 150 strangers on the street and asked them what they were thinking about the second before I stopped them. Using a mic and a dictaphone I recorded what they told me, then took a picture of them…All quotes state exactly what was said during the interviews. The interviews took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, and New York City.”

Anna Gram

Check out this sexy glass from Anna Gram (a design collaboration between Florian Dussopt, Julie Girard, and Jérémie Reneau). It is at its most functional when drinking a beverage that requires mixing. Swivel the glass and the ceramic ball will dissolve the sugar! I dig.

Power Graphixx

Power Graphixx is a japanese creative agency that has done work for Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series. Their recent work on the graphic styles for Acid 2 and Portable Ops are bold and powerful.

The image is from a screensaver that Power Graphixx designed and produced for the Acid 2 game, available for OS X and Windows, you can download it here

Magiglo Stratus Fireplace

Very sleek gas fireplace from Magiglo. Love it!

Modern Twist

Love these “PJ Pocket Pillows” from Modern Twist, which were inspired by a Japanese anemone box (a keepsake box). You twist the bag to open it. The fabric patterns are beautiful.
